The Fox Found Me

a silence barley breathing.

Then the fox came-

eyes like twilight,

fur made of flickering stars. 

She pressed her nose to mine,

and ran.

I followed.

Through bramble, through storm-

until joy cracked open

like sunrise,

and I remembered

how to move."
